Medical Engineering (BEng)

The Bachelor of Engineering in Medical Engineering at Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden (OTH) is designed to merge the fields of engineering and healthcare, preparing students to develop innovative medical technologies. The program encompasses various disciplines of biomedical engineering, including the design and development of medical devices, the understanding of medical imaging techniques, and the integration of software in medical technology. Over the course of 7 semesters, students gain a comprehensive understanding of the key concepts in both engineering and medical applications, ensuring they are well-rounded professionals.

In keeping with the structure typical of German universities of applied sciences, this program is semester-based and comprises a combination of theoretical modules and practical experiences. The coursework is complemented by an internship semester that allows students to apply their theoretical knowledge in industrial or healthcare settings, enhancing their employability upon graduation.
