The DAAD’s flagship scholarship for graduates from any discipline who want to take a full master’s degree at a German university. It covers a monthly living stipend plus insurance and travel, and is the single most common route to funded postgraduate study in Germany.
A bachelor’s degree completed no more than six years before application, normally with at least two years of professional experience for some lines; applications are made through the DAAD portal and deadlines are set per country and subject group (typically between August and October for the following intake).
